William Smith

William Billy Lee Smith, 47, of Seguin, passed away on February 9, 2014 in Seguin, Texas.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 13, from 59 PM at Palmer Mortuary in Seguin.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, February 14, at Palmer Mortuary. Burial will follow at Sutherland Springs Cemetery. Arrangements are by Palmer Mortuary.

Billy was born in San Antonio to Mary Louise Jones on September 11, 1966. Billy worked at Acme Brick for more than 14 years as a truck driver. Every year he was awarded the top safety driver award. He loved his job and took pride in it every day. He also worked for Walgreens as a truck driver where he also received safety driver awards. Truck driving was all Billy ever dreamed of doing since he was a very young boy. He loved his job and everyone he met along the way. The best achievement Billy ever received was becoming a father and being able to spend time with his children. He loved his family and his many friends more than life itself. Special thanks to his best friends, Bob Hensley and wife Roxanne, for being by his side with all of his family through his long struggle with pancreatic cancer. He was a strong warrior and fought the neverending battle. He was truly the most courageous and loving man we have ever known. Rest in peace, Billy.

Billy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary M. and Arvel B Jackson, Sr.

He is survived by his mother Mary Louise Jones his children, Ashley Rae Smith, Amber Dawn Smith, and Zachery Taylor his sister Laura Kimberly Jones Bonillas and husband Bobby aunts and uncles Wayne Rutledge, Sr., and wife Linda Rutledge, Rebecca Hendrix, Arvel B Jackson, Jr. and wife Yolanda Jackson nieces and nephews Daniel William Villarreal, Amanda Villarreal cousins Cheryl Ducharme, Julia Ducharme, Wayne Rutledge, Jr.,and wife Patricia Rutledge, Faith Rutledge, and Charity Rutledge.
